Hi, I'm Sabina Bashir,
Creator of this Year 1 Maths Program.
I’m a qualified teacher with over 25 years of classroom experience — and proud mother of three, homeschooling my youngest.
After teaching Year 1 for several years in school, I created this program to take the mystery and stress out of teaching maths at home.
I often hear parents say they’ve hired a tutor for their 5- or 6-year-old — and honestly, my heart sinks a little everytime I hear that. At this age, an hour of traditional tutoring can be more damaging than helpful. Young children don’t need to be sat down doing "work" for long periods. In fact, just 10–15 minutes of focused, practical tactile learning is often far more effective.
That’s why I designed this curriculum:
To show parents that teaching your child at home doesn’t have to be difficult — and can be done in less time, with better results.
